Golden Oriole Sighting

I've just cycled in to the office over Stanage and saw a pair of Golden Oriole, which sounds so unlikley but  it's the only thing bird that fits - a yellow bird the size of a woodpecker, undulating flight, square tail.

The male bird flew out of a tree on the road just below Dennis Knoll and the colout was so striking it caught my eye.  As I followed it across the road, a duller bird of the same size and profile flew out of another tree and follwoed the first.

Only 85 migrating pairs in uk according to RSPB and they come from Africa.   It makes no sense but I tell you they were golden oriole!

I also saw a Linnet.
